Right Brain Education
What is it right brain education?
How to start with right brain education?
Right brain education is about having children develop more imagination, sensitivity, creativity and intuition rather than focusing on academic achievements, knowledge and logics alone. There are several methods of the right brain education method Shichida and Doman method are the most known. Right brain education principles are based on a sense of cooperation, love and one-ness.
Left brain education focuses on logic and uses confrontation and competition to ignite the need for knowledge and development.
According to Professor Shichida (founder of the "Shichida Method") every child of ages 0 to 3 years old are able to absorb and process information amazingly fast.
The most important thing in the beginning of a child’s education is gaining vocabulary for language development. Using flash cards is one of most important things for developing language, child increases the interest in learning when sees and hears so many different objects, animals etc. Flashing the cards at a fast speed children will learn very quickly, stop when the child gets distracted and turns away the head. DO Not continue or insist on looking and listening when the attention of child is lost.
Both sides of the brain function very differently. The right brain functions at a high speed, where the left brain functions at a low speed. So when inputting a lot of information at a very fast speed, you activate the right brain.
In Shichida classes, flash cards are not the only tools used, there are other activities such as ESP games, image eye play, eye exercises, memory games, picture flash cards, singing and dancing, storybooks, playing cards, and more being used.

Likes Repetitive Inputs Soaks Up Information Like Sponge
Uses Words List Uses Picture, Numbers and Shapes Images
The most important thing before starting out is the relationship between you and your child. Your child has to feel loved and respected. The children will grow according to how are being treated and viewed and how they feel the parent attitude towards him/her.
It is advised to hug your child for 8 seconds at least 4 times a day and it should be done from bottom of heart not that you must, it will create a strong bond and child will be more open to listening and learning.
When child makes a mistake, DO NOT think or say anything negative. Words get 'materialized' and impact on your child. The child will be what you think and say of him/her.Instead look at the strong points and potential. Avoid being perfectionist, NEVER compare! Every child is different and has it's own strengths. Don’t focus on academic achievement and do not expect immediate results.
[This article was written inspired on the Right Brain Education method schools.]
Below is a short guide for how should be structured the lessons and short description of activities.
The education process is easy once used to it but very different from usual teaching or activities.
I. Connection and Concentration part
II. Activities play .
III. Ending play.
I. First Part is about calming and concentrating(meditation state) for better learning outcome
Playing it in background 10 min before start of right brain education activities or you may leave it to play for longer while your child is learning.
Taking deep breaths and with your both hands in front like holding a ball but same time like molding it from energy flows visualizing creation of energy ball and helping your child if is still a baby under 2 years. Get at the back of your child and like hug him, take his hands and help him create the imaginative energy ball manipulating with his hands and same time talking and telling him to look at it and how big it grows. Next compress the ball with making it smaller but more concentrated energy and put it in he mouth of child. Once baby can do it by himself you just both stand up in front of each other and do it in tandem.
3. Breath Exercises.
In Shichida class is often used some pre-made blowing animals 'Octopus' or it can be anything that can interest the child to blow, like colored feathers, paper pieces or candles. Here below is what i actually made and used but child looses interest if used over and over so make sure to make and use variations in shape colors and use daily different one.
Difference between right and left brain education?
Right Brain Development Activities
4. Motivational Meditation. (for Parent) optional though may be done at any time.
Parent concentrates on his child and imagines him succeeding and virtually sending the child all the positive skills or attributes you desire for him or envision him already having all those skills and achievements. At the end send him love envision how you hug him.
II. Second chapter is where the activities and play part start.
1.Flashcards. [from 0.6 months]
Advised to show 100 per day in a fast speed, 0.6-1.0 seconds per card and same time sounding the name of card. This method activates the right brain and kids memorize faster and don't get bored as fast when doing it slower. The right and left hemispheres are getting connected in work while receiving information at high speed. This will develop instant memory skill, later on the child at a glace could memorize entire pages of written text or even books.
2.ESP games. [from 1.5 y.o]
Since there are different extrasensory skills there are different exercises to train each of them
Intuition, clairvoyance, telepathy, premonitions and so on. It might sound scary for some parents but do not be afraid. These exercises won't make 'a medium' from your child they are meant to broaden the senses that humans have but do not use. More detailed on them will go on a separate post i think will include a link here when it's done.
3.Imagination.[from 1.7 y.o]
Developing imagination is done by composing short stories and making the child envision this. This is easier with children over 3 years but can be done with children 1.7 and up by composing easier stories and even showing for real. This Imagination play can teach your child to see words, pictures, and numbers as images.
Example for beginner : You see this red ball (take red ball in hand) now think that this ball is going in my pocket (hide the ball), my pocket inside is large i have so many things here you see a cat she likes the ball and wants to play with it look how she stretches and yawns and now she is touching the ball and plays with it' etc.. can be composed any kind of story all depends on parent.
4.Vision and eye training. [from 2 y.o ]
Child is learning to capture and hold an image in the mind. Shichida method has this blue square with orange dot in center and you have to make your child to look at it for 30 seconds and then to look at a blank white page. This exercise is difficult for children below 3 but there are exceptions and feel free to try it if your child is about 2 years or more.
The eye training is basically games making your child follow with eyes an object or an image that is being moved. This trains eye muscle to scan let-right ,up-down and all directions.
This prepares your child for photographic memory exercises and speed reading.
5.Linking Memory. [from 1y.o]
This training the child to memorize a group of pictures in sequence. This method uses flashcards to make up nonsense stories in order to activate the right brain and switch off the logic activating the instant memory. There are several conditions in order to achieve the right outcome: never use same flashcard in different stories, start from 3-4 cards, don't use logic actions.
Example: 1.duck. 2.apple. 3.moon. 4.hat (flashcards)
'Duck rode the apple and seen the moon weaving with a Hat'
6.Memory Grid. and Photo Memory. [from 1.5 years ]
Using flashcards as well. Start with 3-4 cards and gradually increase number.
Your child is supposed to identify the differences between the pictures or objects. This could be the colour, position of the object, or something else.
This is to train your child’s right brain to learn how to memorize an image seen only for a moment.
Put in certain order the flashcards and tell child to remember how they are placed. Then mix them and tell child to put them in the order that you showed it 1st.
These can be variations of how can be done. Like take a picture of a table and 3 smaller pictures of cups or other objects but in different shape or color so they can distinguish that are different. Place the cups on table and let the child remember the order then take cups off and let the child put on the table the correct order.
Photo memory - remember pictures of shown(flashed) objects, quantity memory remember the number of objects seen, color memory-- determine and remember flashed colors, position memory- remember the position of objects shown.
7.Mandala pictures. Develops image memory as well (from 2y.o)
Showing mandala pictures. Use simple Mandalas at start and increase the difficulty as you see the child advancing. Take one mandala picture have the child look at it for 5 seconds. Then take it and give a empty mandala picture where just the outlines is seen. The child has to recall from the image memory the colors of the mandala parts and color the empty mandala accordingly. Example of one simple I made:
8. Sensory play.
Colors, shape, properties
Flashcards with numbers 1st. Then flashcards with additions and substruction etc.
Talk with child in a foreign language if you know one well, otherwise show short (5-10 min) children videos cartoon or kids play and talk. This will accustom your child to the sound of that foreign language and with time child will understand a lot of the conversation and will be more able to start speak it.
Sorting by color or shape develops distinguishing objects and images, making the memorizing things easier due to fast shape/color identification.
12. Tangram or Puzzles.
